Verification Center

Answers your underwriting, operations and QC teams can actually use.

Practical resources on IRS transcripts, authorization forms, SSA verification, income documentation and verification risk — written from the operations side.

Why this exists

The answer is usually needed before the question is convenient.

A transcript condition rarely appears when someone has time to research it. It appears the afternoon before closing, or in the middle of a QC sample, or when an authorization comes back rejected for a reason nobody on the file recognises. This is where those answers live.

Written by people who work these files

Not general tax content. These guides come out of twenty-five years of processing authorizations and watching which ones fail, which records answer which underwriting question, and where the avoidable delays actually come from.

Specific enough to act on

Which line the current address belongs on. Why an unchecked attestation box stops a request. What a No Match does and does not prove. The detail that decides whether a file moves today or next week.

Honest about the limits

We say what these records do not answer as clearly as what they do. A verification service that oversells its own product is not much use to someone who has to defend a lending decision later.

The distinction worth carrying into every file

Consistency inside the loan file is not the same as independent verification outside it. A borrower’s documents can corroborate each other perfectly and still not agree with what was reported to the federal government. Everything in this centre works outward from that idea.

Why we publish this

Information no one else is positioned to give you.

We process millions of transcript requests. That means we see what current turnaround actually looks like, which authorizations fail and why, and how the process behaves when the IRS changes something. Most of it is not documented anywhere else, so we write it down.

Something you would like answered?

If there is a verification question your team keeps running into and cannot find a straight answer to, tell us. It is very likely other lending teams are asking the same thing, and it is the sort of thing worth writing up properly.

Ready when you are
